Initial Security Professional Training- Class Information
This initial Security Professional training course is 12 hours in length and covers all Maryland State required objectives (see below), as well as the addition of topics such as Leadership vs Management, Liability Mitigation, and Active Shooter (denoted in italics*).
Urban Defense LLC is known for going above and beyond, and this course is no different. We take the time to expand on each objective, test for comprehension, and ensure upon class completion that the student understands the material. We will even help you submit your application (additional fees may apply).

Class Objectives Include:
- The requirements for receiving and maintaining a security guard certification in the State of Maryland

- The legal limits of a security guard's authority to arrest and/or detain a suspect

In-Service/Renewal Security Professional Training Information
The In-Service/Renewal Security Professional Training Class consists of 8 hours of classroom instruction. It's focuses on refreshing the information provided in the Initial Training Class and ensuring that each student is provided the tools for continued success in the security profession.

Scheduling a Group Class:
Companies wishing to schedule a private group class may do so by contacting Urban Defense by phone or email.
Classes may be held at your facility or hosted by Urban Defense at one of our available training locations.
- Minimum class size: 10 students
- Maximum class size: 25 students

Times:
- Start and end times may vary based on course type and location.
- Standard class times are included in the confirmation email. Some classes may have alternate schedules.
What Do I Need To Bring:
Detailed instructions will be included in your confirmation email.
Students should bring:
- Valid photo ID
- Notebook and pen/pencil
- Snacks and/or lunch (optional)
Do NOT bring:
- Firearms
- Ammunition
- Weapons of any type (OC spray, batons, Tasers, knives, etc.)
All students must be pre-registered. Walk-ins are not permitted.
